Demant Objects

Demant Objects is a line of fine jewellery and silverware by designer and goldsmith Christina Demant.

Each piece is carefully handcrafted in our Copenhagen studio, where Christina works by modern and traditional goldsmithing techniques. Her designs are characterised by her sculpting method and an appreciation for the abundance of possibilities when manipulating precious metals.

“There is a sense of alchemy to this world. As goldsmiths, we get to experience the material in wildly different states - from the vivid chaos of the molten form to the grounding quality of the fixed metal. It’s an incredibly pleasing thing to work with.”

Her collections are contemplations on intangible forces of nature, distilled into petite wearable sculptures and artistic homeware. They are each a small token of appreciation for all the beautiful paradoxes that surround us.

Our production is based on a made-to-order principle, to reduce inventory obsolescence and overall waste. Furthermore, we reuse all precious metals acquired in order to continually limit waste of all kinds and we  take pride in sourcing precious metals that have been mined under humane, clean conditions. Valuing the integrity of all natural resources is a fundamental part of our philosophy.

Finally, the tradition of passing down fine jewellery and precious objects between loved ones adds another meaningful layer to the notion of sustainability. Our pieces are made to be worn and live on for generations.

Christina has a background in fashion design from L’Ecole Superieure des Arts et Techniques de la Mode in Paris. She received her formal training as a goldsmith at Copenhagen Next before launching Demant Objects.
